Hey, it’s Geri,
For a few days I have really been craving my mum’s fluffy cake recipe. A couple of days ago I decided to make it and indulge a little – yum!
Best taste ever – A light chocolate base covered with a vanilla cream filing then topped with dark and white shredded chocolate.
This recipe is incredibly easy and quick to make, took me about 15 minutes from start to finish. We had such a great response, many of you asking for the cake recipe, here it is. Enjoy this mouth-watering cake, it will definitely become a favourite.
Wiener Boden Chocolate Sponge Cake Base – The brand is Polish and it’s available in many Polish shops. You could also use alternatives or make your own. I prefer the base with 3 layers. Can be found online here.
2 table spoons of icing sugar
2 table spoons of butter
2x Dr. Oetker – Vanilla Cream Powder Cake Mix 130 grams each
Preparing the cake mix
In a large box add 400ml milk, 2 table spoons of icing sugar and 2 table spoons of butter then add the cake mix. Mix well until you have a spreadable fluffy cream texture.
Building the cake
Using the bottom cake layer sprinkle some milk to soften it a little bit. Add a few scoops of cream and cover well. Place the second layer on top and repeat. After placing the third layer and cover well with the remaining cream, make sure to cover the sides of the cake as well.
Topping it off
The final part of the cake recipe is simply sprinkle the cake with anything you would like. I normally shred two types of chocolate with a cheese grater.
You could use sprinkles or chocolate buttons instead, maybe even some strawberries or blueberries…
Good luck with this easy chocolate cake recipe and enjoy. Let us know how you get on in the comments section below.
